We at RetinQ are eager to assist you in these different roles (steward & controller, trusted reporter, business partner and technical expert) to streamline your finance department’s core information processes. We are experts in the entire record to report process, ranging from Financial Performance Management, Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting, Financial Closing and Consolidation, Management Reporting and Analytics, “embedded” in a data governance approach. RetinQ combines a passion for quality, in-depth experience and know-how to translate our customer’s financial information requirements into optimized business processes . RetinQ guides the roll-out of these processes using the newest information technologies. Our leitmotiv is : pragmatism, adequacy, usability and performance!
RetinQ is derived from the verb “to rethink”.The meaning of the verb can be found in the Cambridge Dictionaries Online as : “to think again about a plan, idea or system in order to change or improve it”.
That is exactly what we do … supporting our customers to rethink their Financial Close & Forecasting, Budgeting, Planning & Reporting processes with the only and final aim of improvement.
The “Q” in our name represents our unconditional focus on quality and innovation
Our logo symbolizes the Q of quality.
The logo also is the reversed symbol you can find on computers to start/stop. Our work and expertise helps the customer to stop and review actual financial processes, and finally start again based on renewed insights.
“Agility & insights to grow”
Insight is defined as the clear (and often sudden) understanding of a complex situation;
Agility is explained as: the power of moving quickly and easily; nimbleness, the ability to think and draw conclusions quickly; intellectual acuity;
In our baseline we bring both together with the intention to help our customers grow.
@RetinQ we truly believe that everyone can do something to make our world a better place. Co-workers are actively involved in and are encouraged to work in between projects for several social nonprofit organizations.

A prospect (and later customer) asked us to execute an assessment for an Enterprise Performance Management project – during or at the end-of the design phase, sometimes after a go-live. This can be from a :
With a multi functional questionnaire and prototype/sandbox environment we support our prospects/ customer to have smart assessment results and clear insights in scenario’s for next steps. Most of these assessments are executed for projects that are placed on-hold or were formal sign-off of a design (blueprint) is lacking/postponed or other toll-gate deliverables are not in line with the expectations. Another reason after go-live of the new EPM solution is lack of embedding within the maintenance organization (not realizing business-case benefits) or missing flexibility towards another aligned initiative.
Based on our senior expertise role as program management – we steer multiple underlying projects with different scopes and experts in the right direction to exceed the expectations within the foreseen budget and timelines. In parallel we work together with the customer in order to embed the results of the implementation from a maintenance mode after the project mode.
Project management is in our opinion more than defining a PID and steer on resources, planning, budget and milestones. Based on our expertise and best practices we combine content, redesign of processes and ownership in order to challenge the requirements from a functional perspective into the right translation of the technical functionality and possibilities. Real added value is realized with our qualified project deliverables, which we share with the project members involved.
We use different project managment methodologies as PRINCE II, SCRUM and Rapid Application Development (RAD) to allow for an efficient design process that is focussed on understanding the requirements and processes. During the desig we will map the dependencies from other systems/processes and identify potential improvements.
Based on our multiple EPM skills, implementation experiences and our attention for market developments of (new) software vendors – we can independently advice and support you. Within a wide range from defining selection criteria and RFP until (final) proof-of-concept & insight in implementation effort – based on your request - we can guide you throught these steps to support in decision making.
From a first-time right principle (fast close) closing processes [monthly consolidation, annual close, monthly forecast, half year budget or bi-weekly sales] can easily be redesigned. Activities can be scheduled in parallel with different actors, clear and in-time preparations and instructions and checks & balances (hard & soft validations) lead to a smoothly process. Critical paths (system dependencies) can be solved by locking data source systems or only allow delta loads or journal entries to safeguard ownership and audit-trail. Based on the redesign of the closing process in working days, with activities and actors – the roles and responsibilities (RACI’s) can be fine-tuned and/or redefined.
The setup of a Business intelligence competence center (BICC) today is different than 5 years ago. The more self-service business mode of used Business intelligence solutions replaced activities from the IT department to end-business users. The BICC mainly focus as global virtual organization on the optimal processes to maintain and develop the global Enterprise Data Warehouse with aligned master data (DNA) and data quality improvements – the business side mainly focus on the big data analysis (including external data sources) and predictive analysis based on historic data.
The BICC is responsible for developing a BI strategy (roadmap in years with underlying waves), implementing BI tools & applications and then training and supporting the business users. Finally it is the BICC's responsibility to oversee back-end data management tasks such as data integration, data governance, data quality and master data. We support our customers in all these steps.
A business dashboard is an information management tool that is used to track KPIs, metrics, and other key data points relevant to a business, department, or specific process. Through the use of data visualizations, dashboards simplify complex data sets to provide users with at a glance awareness of current performance.
Make KPI’s transparent with shared definitions in order to learn and understand causes and effects. After embedding in the organization the steps towards target setting (bonus/ malus) can be introduced to steer with KPI’s.
